Check out the beautiful quilts displayed in downtown merchant’s windows. For a chance at winning a special prize, collect a Quilt Trail card from each location.  Then attend the Autumn Quilt Festival to deposit the card with your contact info in the ballot box (paid admission required for entry). Quiltfest Judging Criteria
  1. Each quilt is judged on its own merits rather than competing against other quilts in the same category for a first, second, and third place award. Therefore, some categories might have several first-place ribbons while others might have none. Because of this system, the category in which a quilt is entered has no effect on its ability to earn a ribbon.
  2. All quilts are judged independently by two judges who assign each one a score based on the point system below. Ribbons are awarded based on the average of the two judges' scores.
  3. Judges each choose their favorite quilt for the two Judge’s Choice Awards. Quilt show attendees vote for which quilt is the favorite for the Peoples' Choice Award.
Point System:
  • VISUAL IMPACT - 15 points maximum
  • DESIGN - 40 points maximum • 20 points: use of pattern and design • 10 points: effectiveness of color in overall design • 5 points: suitability of materials • 5 points: border treatment
  • WORKMANSHIP - 45 points maximum • 20 points: precision of work, top and back • 20 points: quality of quilting and/or needlework • 5 points: binding and edges
  • TOTAL POINTS POSSIBLE - 100
